The one thing that was hindering most of you from participating has now been relaxed....so why wait? Just grab your camera and come along tomorrow... This might be your last opportunity to visit the tradition of Kumartuli...because from the next year Kumartuli is supposed to get a whole new & modernized look...

So don't loose this chance to bind the heritage in your frames.

And one more surprisingly striking fact....no other girls apart from me have registered....why is this? Where is the girl power? Girls....show up!

Shift in Timing.

Friends,

Sorry for having made a change at the very end... but i am sure this change will not make anyone grudge. instead it will add to the benefit of the group.

While many of the existing members wished that the time had been pushed a bit, others were sure they couldnt make it due to the timing.

So to incorporate more members and for the convenience of all, the time of meeting has been shifted from 0530 hrs to 0730 hrs... means 07:30 am.

Please bring an extra sum of Rs. 25.00 /- for acquiring the permission to photoshoot at kumartuli. This sum goes to their organisation that takes care of the health of the artisans.

I'm getting a bit far-fetched...but what's the problem in that? Initially we start off with sharing photos on this blog which will be common to all the members attending the Photowalk on 20th... Through public voting some top photos are selected...like about top 20...then they can be put up for sale maybe...there are a number of websites which deal with photo buying and transactions online...

Eventually when we get sponsors we can even think of exhibitions...

What say Kolkata?

This is an exciting concept…very new to Kolkata. You just have to go out with your camera and overwhelming enthusiasm…click whatever you like on your way from the source to the destination (pre-decided) and capture moments of interest worth sharing…

Its a preliminary venture to popularise the idea and create a family-‘The Kolkata Photowalkers’ as we wish to call ourselves…

About the venue, Kumartuli…nothing can be more appropriate this season… Let’s capture into frames the works and lives of the masters of sculpture who are the backbone to our very own Durgotsav…

The time is 6 am since that’d the best time to avoid traffic and observe lives slowly unfolding…

Hoping to get a huge response from kolkata!

So all you photo freaks out there just get up and get going with your passion…
